“This is not about the moon, that’s not our final goal. Mars is not our final goal. Humans throughout the solar system is our goal,” said NASA Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy. Her comments came as she made remarks about NASA’s return to the Moon mission during the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) 2022 ASCEND meeting in Las Vegas. Following the deputy administrator, space industry stakeholders, including officials from NASA, SpaceX, and the U.S. Space Force, discussed the importance of public-private partnerships, space defense, and the essential role robotics play in human exploration of space. close
