Purdue University President Mitch Daniels said on campus, value “is the most common equation of life … meaning quality over price,” and that Purdue University has “taken pains to keep the cost of a Purdue education within reach.” He added that the cost of tuition at Purdue had remained unchanged during his 10-year tenure as president. His remarks came during an American Enterprise Institute conversation on higher education=. Several topics were discussed during the conversation, including college affordability; STEM education, i.e., science, technology, engineering, and math); enrollment levels; higher education alternatives; and the Biden administration’s student loan debt relief plan, which Mr. Daniels does not support. Mr. Daniels, a former Republican governor of Indiana, announced he would step down as president of Purdue at the end of 2022. close
