President Clinton, surrounded by leaders of several Asian countries, briefed reporters on the progress of meetings with Asian leaders during the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. He stated that international trade policy in the region will be greatly improved because of the cooperation shown at this meeting. Following a short opening statement, he took questions concerning the APEC summit. The other foreign leaders did not make comments. close
