House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper (D), the North Carolina congressional delegation, and a youth member of North Carolina’s Cherokee tribe spoke at a lighting ceremony for the annual light of the Capitol Christmas Tree on the West Front Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Musical performances included “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by the Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel and “O Christmas Tree” by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Band. close
