The House Rules Committee held an emergency hearing regarding an impending railroad strike. The committee met to consider a bill that would turn a September agreement between railroad companies and union leadership into law. The deal was rejected by rank-and-file members from four unions due to insufficient paid sick leave. Turning the agreement into law would effectively block the workers' ability to strike. close
