Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) talked about the House-passed bill to avert a railway workers strike. It was expected to pass the Senate. House members also approved a separate measure providing paid time off for rail workers, which was less likely to pass the Senate. Railway workers want more paid sick leave and had vowed to strike by December 9, 2022, if a deal could not be reached with rail companies. Senator Sanders said the government needs to ensure that workers get paid for sick leave. close
