“It just felt like a very appropriate time … felt like I’d be going out on top,” said outgoing House Transportation Committee Chair Peter DeFazio (D-OR) of his retirement from Congress after 36 years in the House of Representatives. The representative’s remarks came as he spoke with C-SPAN to reflect on his life and career and politics. Representative DeFazio reflected on his legislative accomplishments, his political influences, and the growing partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans.
