“Let me be clear. Words matter,” said second gentleman Doug Emhoff, and continuing: “People are no longer saying the quiet parts out loud. They are literally screaming them.” His comments came during a roundtable discussion at the White House combating antisemitism. Mr. Emhoff referred to antisemitism as “an epidemic of hate facing our country,” and said that “we’re seeing a rapid rise in antisemitic rhetoric and acts.” White House Domestic Policy Adviser Susan Rice and Deborah Lipstadt, State Department special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism, also both made remarks. close
