President Biden announced several committments and investments for Africa during remarks at the leaders session of the U.S.-Africa Summit in Washington, D.C. The president reiterated U.S. support for the African Union to join the G-20. In addition, he said the U.S. is committed to more than $50 billion in spending in Africa. He also said he would ask Congress to loan the International Monetary Fund (IMF) more than $20 billion for Africa. close
