President Biden announced an additional $1.85 billion security assistance package to aid Ukraine in its war with Russia. The president’s announcement came during a joint news conference from the White House with Ukrainian President Zelensky. President Zelensky thanked President Biden for his support and said the additional security package was an “important step to create a secure airspace for Ukraine. … the only way to deprive the terrorist country” from attacking his country, its energy sector, and its infrastructure. President Biden also said the war “could end today if Putin had any dignity at all and did the right thing and just ... pulled out. But that’s not going to happen.” close
