Representative-elect Mike Waltz (R-FL) said, “it’s time to move on…and to govern the way the American people elected us to do,” as he addressed the opposition to House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) bid to be the next speaker of the House. Representative-elect Walz was joined by fellow Republican combat veteran members of the House, including Representatives-elect Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), Mike Gallagher (R-WI), and Dan Crenshaw (R-TX). They addressed the work that cannot begin as they wait for a speaker to be chosen, such as helping veterans, dealing with classified information, and national security implications attributed to a stalled Congress. close
