Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs (D) gave her inaugural address from the state capitol in Phoenix after being sworn in as the state’s 24th governor. As she made her remarks, the governor vowed to work with any elected official in her state, regardless of party, who is “ready to make real progress on the issues,” but said, “chasing conspiracy theories, pushing agendas for special interests, attacking the rights of your fellow Arizonans, or seeking to further undermine our democracy will lead nowhere.” Governor Hobbs touched on several topics, including education investment, women’s health and reproductive rights, public safety, and affordable housing. Previously, she served as Arizona’s secretary of state (2019-23) and in its legislature (2011-19). close
