“The actions we are announcing today will make things better ... but will not fix the border problem completely,” said President Biden as he outlined new border security enhancements. He announced new enforcement measures to secure the border, highlighting an expansion of a previous program allowing for an additional 30,000 migrants per month from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, and Nicaragua who follow U.S. law while seeking asylum. The president also touched on a plan to expel migrants from illegally entering the country who do not abide by U.S. immigration laws which will permanently ban them from seeking asylum in the future. close
