House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and other Democrats marked the second anniversary of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. They gathered on the East Front steps of the building. Others in attendance one Republican, Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (PA); former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA); and the House chaplain. Family members of slain Capitol police officers read their names before a 140-second moment of silence to represent 140 officers affected by the riot. close
