President Clinton and President Sam briefed reporters on the details of their meetings at the White House. President Clinton stated that South Korea’s cooperation in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) talks will help facilitate international trade between the Pacific Rim and North America. He also applauded the South Korean government and its steady move toward true democracy. Following opening statements by both leaders, they took questions from reporters including a number of questions concerning North Korea’s refusal to terminate nuclear weapon production. close
