Democratic leaders briefed the press following a congressional leadership meeting with President Clinton concerning the accomplishments of the first year of the 103rd Congress. Senator George Mitchell (D-ME) spoke about the Senate Republican filibuster on the Brady Bill and the effort to gain enough votes for cloture. Following a short opening statement by Senator Mitchell, they took questions concerning meetings with South Korean President Kim Young-sam, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), congressional accomplishments, and the Brady Bill. close
