“If Congress were to pass H.R.21, the president would veto it,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm. These remarks came during the White House press briefing while discussing energy legislation in a Republican-controlled House of Representatives. The Strategic Production Response Act, H.R.21, would limit access to strategic petroleum reserves. Karine Jean-Pierre also participated in this briefing with reporters. She touched on other topics, including the shooting in Monterey, California; the investigation into classified documents found at President Biden’s former office and Delaware home; and whether Representative George Santos (R-NY) would be invited to a new member reception at the White House. close
