Pentagon Press Secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder held a briefing following Saturday’s military strike against a suspected Chinese spy balloon over U.S. territory. He confirmed four previous Chinese balloons had also entered U.S. territory: three under former President Trump and one under President Biden. Mr. Ryder did not speculate on China’s motive, but said the data collection from the incidents had been valuable in learning about China’s surveillance program. Also, he discussed relief-support to Turkey amid the aftermath of a major earthquake. close
