U.S. and European Union energy department officials testified on the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on global energy security. The hearing took place before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Members asked Assistant Energy Secretary for International Affairs Andrew Light and other witnesses about the U.S. and its allies decreasing energy-dependence on China and Russia, increasing U.S. production of natural gas and oil, and global investments in renewables and alternative resources. close
