Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) spoke out against U.S. policy toward China during a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. He criticized continued security aid to Ukraine and said the U.S. needed to stop sending “blank checks” to Ukraine and refocus on China, which he said posed a greater immediate threat. He also talked about arming Taiwan and reducing U.S. troop levels in Europe, shifting focus instead to the Indo-Pacific region. During his speech, a protester interrupted him and criticized his policy views. Senator Hawley continued with his remarks after the protester was ushered off the stage. close
