Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that “Russia has to lose in Ukraine,” and “losing is not an option,” as he discussed the war in Ukraine during the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Others joining the conversation were Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov. A variety of topics were discussed, including Ukraine’s prospective membership into NATO and the European Union, military support for Ukraine, and how some adversaries, such as China, might be emboldened by a Russian victory to invade Taiwan. close
