President Biden participated in a bilateral meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda, held at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. Their meeting came at the one-year mark of the Russia-Ukraine War, and followed a surprise trip by President Biden to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, where he announced another $500 million in aid for Ukraine’s military. In remarks opening the meeting, President Duda praised President Biden’s trip to Kyiv, saying it was a bold move showing confidence in Ukraine’s ability to repel Russia and the power of NATO forces. President Biden said he was looking forward to the meeting, and said the U.S. would remain a staunch ally of Ukraine, Poland, and other Central and European nations. close
