President Biden delivered remarks on his nomination of Julie Su to serve as Labor secretary, who if confirmed by the Senate, would replace outgoing Labor Secretary Marty Walsh. The president thanked Secretary Walsh for his service, and said his decades-long work as a labor advocate had positively impacted millions of lives. President Biden also spoke highly of Ms. Su, saying she understood as the child of an immigrant union member the importance of middle-class jobs with worker protections. After his remarks, Ms. Su spoke briefly, then was joined on stage by her two daughters and many members of President Biden’s cabinet. close
