Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned members of Congress about defaulting on the debt as she testified on President Biden’s fiscal year 2024 budget request before the House Ways and Means Committee. Topics included tax credits and increases, inflation, global supply chain, and the IRS. In addition, Secretary Yellen testified that Silicon Valley Bank was among the few banks that she is monitoring. Her statement on the bank came moments before news broke that the bank had collapsed. close
