Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Democratic leaders with jurisdiction over the budget process spoke about President Biden’s newly released fiscal year 2024 budget request. All said it was a good budget and one that would benefit all Americans. The estimated price tag for President Biden’s proposed budget is $6.8 trillion. It included an increase in spending for the military as well as additional money for Ukraine in its war against Russia. Tax hikes on higher income earners and corporations were also part of the budget proposal. close
