President Biden delivered remarks on the Labor Department’s February 2023 jobs report, which showed employers added 311,000 jobs while the unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 3.6%. He said the report showed continued improvement for the U.S. economy, which also saw continued easing of inflation through the month. President Biden also responded to a few of reporters' questions, and said he didn’t think House Republicans were being serious about negotiations involving his fiscal year 2024 budget--which he had released earlier in the week--or raising the nation’s debt ceiling. close
