Laura Tyson, Chairwoman of the Council of Economic Advisors called a news conference to announce that the U.S. unemployment statistic fell by .4%. She stated that consumer confidence has helped boost construction and manufacturing jobs throughout the U.S. She also suggested that the president’s economic plan has kept interest rates low while creating economic growth.
