Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo discussed the expansion of the Internal Revenue Service under the Inflation Reduction Act, at an event co-hosted by the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution. He touched on several topics, including the hiring of additional IRS personnel and the funds needed to modernize the agency. Among the others participating were former IRS Commissioner Charles Rossotti (1997-2002) and former U.S. Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson (2001-2019), who discussed their views on the best ways to implement modernization efforts within the IRS. close
