“The takeover of SVB has been personally and professionally devastating, and I am truly sorry for how this has impacted SVB’s employees, clients and shareholders,” said former CEO of Silicon Valley Bank Gregory Becker before the Senate Banking Committee. Mr. Becker appeared alongside Scott Shay, former chair and co-founder of Signature Bank, and Eric Howell, former Signature Bank president, to testify on the failure of their regional banks. Several topics were discussed, including bank management, executive compensation, and the impact of digital assets. Also addressed were the concerns brought by banking regulators and the Federal Reserve, including the speed at which the banks grew and the number of uninsured deposits at each bank. close
