President Biden called the latest jobs report “good news” as he met with his economic team at the White House. The latest jobs report showed 253,000 jobs were created in April while unemployment dropped to 3.4 percent. During this meeting the president also reiterated the debt ceiling must be raised without conditions attached to it. His reiteration came as was set to meet with congressional leaders on this topic the following week. Republicans had threatened to not raise the debt ceiling without cuts to federal spending. close
