FBI Director Louis Freeh discussed the federal legislation which formed the FBI over the past several decades. As the newly appointed director, he indicated that he would be reviewing headquarters personnel, and would be working with Attorney General Reno to reduce duplication of efforts in the various federal law enforcement agencies. He emphasized the growth of gang and organized crime-related violence in the U.S. and pledged to decrease this crisis situation. close
