The Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) held a second hearing on challenges facing the appraisal industry, including barriers for entering the profession and racial bias in home appraisals. The panel’s first hearing on such topics occurred in January 2023. The ASC is an interagency committee under the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council and oversees real estate appraisal regulations. The Federal Housing Finance Agency hosted the event at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. NOTE: close
