President Biden spoke to a gathering of gun safety advocates as well as national and local lawmakers at the National Safer Communities Summit in West Hartford, Connecticut. The president promoted the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act--the first federal gun safety legislation enacted in 30 years, which he signed into law one year ago--and executive actions he has taken to reduce gun violence.
