Financial regulators from the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation were among the witnesses testifying on the use of climate-related financial risk policies in risk management before the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy. Several topics were discussed, including their roles as regulators, why climate risk is used in financial regulation, and whether the regulatory agencies set climate policy for financial institutions. They also discussed the impact of anti-ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) legislation on state and local governments. close
