The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology, and the Law held a hearing to examine ways to regulate but also innovate artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The panel of witnesses included Dario Amodei, co-founder & CEO of Anthropic, an AI developer. All believed the technology should be subjected to government regulation and oversight to varying degrees. Subcommittee members raised concerns and asked numerous questions on topics ranging from national security to election manipulation, labor exploitation, and data privacy. close
