Political strategists and academics discussed former President Trump’s 2024 election campaign, its challenges, and a potential re-match with President Biden, during a virtual event hosted by American University. Several topics were discussed, including the impact of uncertainty around President Trump’s participation in the upcoming Republican presidential debate, how the economy and foreign policy might factor into the conservative agenda, political shifts in state electorates, and the campaigns of some of President Trump’s Republican rivals, including Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ, 2010-18).
