Electronic Town Meeting Vice President Gore today conducted an interactive electronic town meeting from his office in the West Wing of the White House. The meeting, co-hosted by U.S. News and World Report and CompuServe, also was broadcast live on C-SPAN cable television. The Vice President answered questions on the following topics: his opinion on “virtual communities;” in what area--science, business, etc.--the Information Super Highway will have the greatest impact; home-based computer jobs for the handicapped; the situation in Bosnia; connecting Europe to the Information Super Highway; the effect that the Information Super Highway will have on the health care system; and connecting Internet technology to both poor and wealthy school districts. close
