The U.S. House of Representatives began this session with one minute speeches. Any member may speak during their one minute on any topic of their choice. The House then moved on to bridge reinforcement. This bill was to protect bridges from being damaged from earthquakes. The House then moved on to schools. Over 12 1/2 billion was being debated for elementary and secondary school programs. The measure also provided grants for needy students, drug free school programs, and magnet schools. close
