The goal of the Bloc Quebecois is to establish the Canadian province of Quebec as an independent country. This year, provincial elections are scheduled in the province of Quebec. Should a separatist party be elected at the provincial level, it is expected that citizens in Quebec will vote in a 1995 referendum dealing with sovereignty for their province. close
