Secretary Perry delivered his first address in Washington, D.C. as Secretary of Defense. He spoke on U.S. relations with various nations of the former Soviet Union and how they are likely to progress. He will be visiting the post-Soviet republics on March 16th. Secretary Perry was sworn in on February 3rd, following a unanimous vote by the Senate. He had served since May of last year as Deputy Secretary of Defense. close
