Using Oxford-style debate, members of Congress argued the merits of the Clinton and other health care reform packages. Eight House members made up two partisan teams for this health care debate which was moderated by Congressman Cardin who organized the event along with Congressman Walker. The format for this debate was based on the practices of the Oxford Union Society. The debates stress spontaneity and direct questioning, and allow for interruption at any time. Other debates will take place in the coming weeks, and may examine the economy, welfare reform and foreign policy. close
