Ambassadors spoke about the U.N. policy toward Haiti including numerous references to the need to reinstate President Aristide as leader of the country. The Haitian Ambassador to the U.N. supported the draft resolution and described the atrocities perpetrated by the Haitian military since seizing power there. This message was echoed by the Ambassadors from Canada, Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, the United States, France, and Brazil. The ambassador from China expressed support for the resolution with reservatons. close
