D-Day: June 6, 1944
Professor Stephen Ambrose, the author of several books including the three authorized biographies of former President Dwight David Eisenhower, spoke about his most recent book D-Day: June 6, 1944. In the book, Mr. Ambrose tells the history of the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Ambrose used 14,000 interviews with veteran sailors, infantrymen, and paratroopers in an attempt to tell the story from both sides of the Atlantic. The interview was broadcast the night before the 50th anniversary of D-Day. close
