Governor George Allen testified concerning the proposed Disney theme park which would be built on lands just four miles from Manassas, VA. Manassas was the site of two Civil War battles. The proposal had come under criticism because of the proximity to the national historic site and the traffic and aesthetic problems it would create. Governor Allen favored the Disney park because of the economic benefits it would bring to that region of Virginia. close
