Alan Greenspan, chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, testified on Capitol Hill. Mr. Greenspan was the sole witness at a hearing of the House Banking Subcommittee on Economic Growth. The Federal Reserve Board controls the U.S. money supply. Mr. Greenspan is serving his second four-year term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. His current term expires next year. Because of technical problems while taping the hearing the broadcast begins ten minutes into the program. close
