Health Care Reform
Today on the Senate floor, Senator Mitchell of Maine presented his proposal for health care reform. The senator’s bill aims to cover 95 percent of Americans by the year 2000. If the goal for coverage is not met, employers and employees would split the cost of coverage. The bill also provides for coverage of poor families, pregnant women, children and others. Debate on health care reform is expected to begin as early as next week. close
