This was the Senate Select Intelligence Committee chaired by Senator Dennis DeConcini, D-Arizona. This hearing was called to asses the planning and building of a 310 million dollar spy satellite headquarters. Witnesses appeared before the committee and discussed the 310 million dollar project for the new national reconnaissance office. The project came to light recently. Lawmakers expressed concerns that they were not informed of the construction of the plan, or the spending for it. Witnesses included John Deutch, Deputy Defense Secretary, James Woolsey, CIA Director, Jeffery Harris, National Reconnaissance Office Director, Jimmie Hill, National Reconnaissance Office Deputy Director, and Roger Marsh, National Reconnaissance Office Management Services. close
