Professors Howard Lindsey, of DePaul University and Richard Current of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, talked about their impressions of this debate, including such issues as slavery and equality for blacks. They talked about how these debates apply to politics today. C-SPAN’s Brian Lamb moderated the conversation which included calls from viewers and live responses from the debate re-enactment’s audience. Stephen Hendershoot also provided his opinion on the debate. Mr. Hendershoot won a C-SPAN Lincoln-Douglas Essay contest. close
