Vice President Al Gore presented his 1-year status report on reinventing government to President Bill Clinton. President Clinton reported that, during his administration, the federal workforce has been reduced by 71,000 positions and that the savings already enacted by Congress or undertaken by the executive branch will amount to $47 billion in this budget cycle.
