The panelists analyzed the economic and social trends in developing countries and their implications for foreign aid. Ms. Raymond began with the content of Foreign Assistance and how it will be implemented in the major changes in developing countries such as Somalia and Rwanda and described the major trends happening on population and growth of working age groups. Mr. Eberstadt discussed population policy underwritten by foreign assistance as provided but governments and NGOs. State Department Undersecretary Wirth talked about the recent Cairo conference and the new economic order with regards to population and women’s reproductive health. close
